Project overview
An animation exploring the relationship between sound and image through synesthesia - translating music into movement, rhythm, shape, line and colour.
I chose a piece of music as the foundation and used its rhythm and energy to define the pace, the transitions and the movement of the visuals. Working with simple abstract forms and a restrained colour palette, the aim was an animation that captures the atmosphere and flow of the music rather than illustrating it - every cut, easing and colour shift is timed to what you hear.
