Cooking App

A mobile app for browsing, saving and cooking recipes.

Cooking app screens shown on two phones

Brief

The task was to design a mobile cooking app that makes discovering and following recipes simple, visual and enjoyable.

Working with defined guidelines for the main content and categories, I focused on creating a clear structure for browsing recipes, saving inspiration and moving from discovery to actually cooking a dish. The challenge was to organise a large amount of visual and practical information without making the interface feel crowded.

Since food is at the centre of the experience, I wanted the photography to do most of the visual work. I built the interface around warm neutral tones, generous white space and simple typography, using hierarchy and colour to guide users naturally through categories, recipe cards, ingredients and preparation steps.

The final design includes the main recipe categories, Trending Now and Recent Recipes sections, navigation, recipe cards and a detailed single-recipe screen. The result is a clean and appetising interface designed to make finding the next meal feel as enjoyable as preparing it.
