A one-minute lyrics video for “Girls Like You” by Maroon 5.
Bringing the rhythm of a song to life through type.
For this exam assignment, we were asked to create a lyrics video no longer than one minute. I chose “Girls Like You” because it was a song I was listening to on repeat at the time.
I wanted to play with typography, text and a visual representation of sound, exploring different ways to carry the rhythm and mood of the song through animation. The result is this final piece, where the lyrics and the sound wave move together with the music.
