What does music look like?
This animation explores the relationship between sound and image through synesthesia, translating music into movement, rhythm, shape, line and colour.
I started from a single piece of music and let its rhythm and energy set the pace, the transitions and the way everything moves. Using simple abstract forms and a restrained colour palette, I wanted to capture the atmosphere and flow of the music rather than illustrate it. Every cut, easing and colour shift is timed to what you hear.
